About Us

Since 2007, Carpenters Café has been a place of food, dignity and community in the heart of Stratford.

Working together, we do more

Carpenters Café runs on the people who show up for it: volunteers, partners and the community itself. Every programme below exists because someone needed it, and someone else was willing to help provide it.

From food parcels handed across a counter to a first CV written on a borrowed laptop, the help we give is deliberately practical, because that’s what actually makes a difference on an ordinary Tuesday. None of it happens on its own. It takes people giving an hour, a skill, a donation, or just their attention to someone who needed it that day.

If you’ve got something to give (time, expertise, or simply a willingness to show up), there’s a place for it here.

Where our journey began

It started with one person deciding that Stratford needed a warm meal and a welcoming table. In 2007, Tee Fabikun opened the doors of what would become Carpenters Café — a small response to a simple, ongoing need.

Tee Fabikun, Founder

Nearly two decades on, that same table has grown into food support, training, and a community that shows up for one another — powered by volunteers who believe, as Tee did, that everyone deserves a place to belong.
