In 2023, Carpenters Café’s work was recognised with the King’s Award for Voluntary Service, the UK’s highest honour for volunteer groups, equivalent to an MBE for voluntary service.
The award reflects nearly two decades of volunteers, partners and the wider community coming together to provide food, training and support to people across Stratford and Newham. It belongs to everyone who has given their time, however briefly, to make that work possible.
